OKLAHOMA CITY (May 24, 2022) – Antonio Gordon, a 6-foot-9 power forward who's spent time with two NCAA Division I basketball programs, has transferred to Oklahoma Christian to continue his basketball career, OC coach
Kendre Talley said Tuesday.
Gordon, a former star at Lawton Eisenhower High School, has two seasons of eligibility remaining after playing two seasons at Kansas State and most recently at Southeastern Louisiana.
Last season for Southeastern Louisiana, he played in 23 games with six starts, averaging 4.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the field.
In two seasons at Kansas State, he played in 44 games with 18 starts and averaged 4.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-9 shooting against then-No. 2 Baylor (the eventual national champion) on Dec. 19, 2020. He also recorded a double-double against Oklahoma State on Feb. 13, 2021, finishing with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
In his second season at K-State, he led the Wildcats in rebounding during Big 12 Conference games at 6.4 per game.
"Antonio is a kid that I have watched play for a while now and I'm excited for the opportunity to coach him," Talley said. "He's brings some Division I experience where he has produced and I think he can continue to produce at this level. He has size and skill and can really get going offensively. It will be good to have him back closer to home so that his family and friends can see him in action! He is a big-time get for us."
Gordon is the third player to sign with OC for the 2022-23 season, joining guard Shane Perales of San Antonio and center Jovan Savic of Belgrade, Serbia, and Frank Phillips (Texas) College.
