BORGER, Texas (May 10, 2022) – Jovan Savic, a 6-foot-10 center the past two seasons for Frank Phillips (Texas) College, has transferred to Oklahoma Christian to continue his college basketball career, OC coach
Kendre Talley said Tuesday.
Savic, from Belgrade, Serbia, averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53.0 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line this past season for Frank Phillips, which posted a 14-16 record.
During the 2020-21 season, he averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 61.3 percent from the field and 74.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Savic will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Jovan brings us more size and IQ," Talley said. "He has the ability to play inside and also stretch the floor. If I had to give him a position, I would say he was a point forward. He can really make plays pushing the ball and finding teammates. He is a very mature hard worker and will continue to grow and get better. I'm excited that he is a part of this Eagle family!"
He is the second player to sign with OC for the 2022-23 season, joining incoming freshman guard Shane Perales of San Antonio.
