Torrion Montgomery were the only Oklahoma Christian male athletes competing Friday on the opening day of the University of Oklahoma's John Jacobs Invitational at John Jacobs Track.
Olsson, a junior from Emporia, Kan., recorded a season-best throw of 144 feet, 11 inches (44.18 meters) to place 14th in the 20-man field that included several NCAA Division I throwers.
Shropshire, a freshman from Poteau, had a top mark of 126 feet, 6 inches (38.57 meters).
Montgomery, a sophomore from Midwest City, was schedule to compete in the long jump, but results for that event weren't immediately available Friday night.
The meet will continue on Saturday.
