SHAWNEE, Okla. (March 26, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian placed three runners in the top eight in the 400 meters and two other Eagles recorded top-five event finishes on Saturday during the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational at Hurt Memorial Track.
Keiontae Williamson, a junior from Vernon, Texas, led the OC contingent in the 400, placing third of 37 runners in 48.94 seconds. Sophomore
Camden Miller of Sand Springs took fifth in 49.41 seconds and junior
Coby Trevino of Tuttle was three spots further back with a time of 49.88 seconds.
Torrion Montgomery, a sophomore from Midwest City, was the Eagles' top individual finisher on Saturday, taking second in the long jump with a top mark of 22 feet, 10 inches (6.96 meters). Junior
Jonathan Olsson, coming off a school-record performance in the javelin on Friday, placed sixth among 19 men in the shot put with a throw of 45 feet, 3½ inches (13.80 meters).
In the 200 meters, OC freshman
Sam Fisher of Norman took 16th among 42 sprinters in 22.56 seconds.
As they were this weekend, the Eagles' track and field teams will again be spread across three meets next weekend – the David Noble Relays in San Angelo, Texas, on Thursday and Friday; the Washington University Distance Carnival in St. Louis on Friday; and the Southwestern Christian Invitational in Yukon on Saturday.
