Schedule change has OC track and field headed to Shawnee

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 23, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian's track and field teams will compete this weekend in a meet hosted by Oklahoma Baptist instead of a previously scheduled meet in Tulsa, OC coach Wade Miller said Wednesday.

The Eagles will make the short trip east on Interstate 40 to Shawnee to compete in the OBU Invitational on Friday and Saturday at OBU's Hurt Memorial Track.

The javelin and hammer events will be held on Friday, starting at 2 p.m. Running events will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will include the 800 meters, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters.

On Saturday, field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the long jump and track events will start at noon with the 4x800-meter relay.

While most of the OC squad competes in Shawnee, four Eagles will be in central Texas this week to participate in the Texas Relays in Austin and the Texas State Invitational in San Marcos – sprinters Bryah Davis, Aysha Robinson and Verrell McBride and distance runner Colton Meyers.
