FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Feb. 18, 2022) – Long jumper
Torrion Montgomery and Oklahoma Christian's 4x400-meter relay team each recorded a season-best mark or time on Friday in the Arkansas Qualifier meet at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track.
The 4x400 relay team of
Camden Miller,
Keiontae Williamson,
Verrell McBride and
Dylan Burrows lowered the Eagles' top time of 2022 in the event to 3:15.85, meeting the NCAA Division II provisional time standard. OC's time ranks 27th in Division II this season, but needs to be among the top 12 to earn a berth in the Division II Indoor Championships next month in Pittsburg, Kan. The current cutoff is 3:14.78.
OC will have one more opportunity to lower its time, next Friday and Saturday in the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships at Texas Tech's Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Also at the Arkansas meet, Montgomery, a sophomore from Midwest City, Okla., had a season-best mark of 21 feet, 11½ inches (6.69 meters) in the long jump, placing 13th among 18 men in the event.
Burrows, a sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, finished seventh among 25 men in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.14. His top time of the season in the event is 1:50.91, which ranks 21st nationally this season, close to the cutoff for making the national meet.
