OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 2, 2022) – A star turn as Oklahoma Christian won its Lone Star Conference basketball opener earned Oklahoma Christian's Drew Tennial recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.

Tennial, a 6-foot-5 sophomore swingman from Edmond, led the Eagles to a 73-64 win over Cameron on Friday night, leading the Eagles in both scoring (19 points, on 7-of-12 shooting) and rebounding (nine).

He also led the Eagles in both categories in a 91-56 loss to No. 3/4-ranked West Texas A&M on Sunday, finishing with 13 points and five rebounds to go with three assists and two steals.

It's the second time this season that Tennial has been named as the Eagle of the Week.

-- Kendall Blackburn, women's basketball: Blackburn, a 6-foot-1 junior center from Edmond, just missed a pair of double-doubles this week. She tied her career-best scoring mark with 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in an 89-68 loss to West Texas A&M on Sunday, after scoring nine points to go with 10 rebounds in a 78-70 loss to Cameron on Friday.

The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
