OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 11, 2021) –
Joy Cortesio, a middle blocker from a local prep volleyball powerhouse, has signed to play for Oklahoma Christian, OC coach
Jason Skoch said Wednesday.
The 6-foot Cortesio played in high school for Christian Heritage Academy in Del City, where she once was a teammate of current OC setter
Jessica Souza.
After helping Christian Heritage post a Class 4A runner-up finish last fall, Cortesio made
The Oklahoman's All-City second-team honor list and was selected for the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team.
She played club volleyball for Stingray VBA 18 Adidas.
Cortesio will join fellow incoming freshmen
Breana Fay of Kailua, Hawaii, and
Megan Rek of El Campo, Texas, in this year's class of OC newcomers.
