OKLAHOMA CITY (July 27, 2021) – Hunter Strickland, the starting center fielder on the Oklahoma Christian softball team that won the 2019 Heartland Conference title, will return to the program as a graduate assistant coach, OC head coach
Shalee Rodriguez said Tuesday.
Strickland, from Oklahoma City, played for the Eagles in 2018 and 2019 after transferring from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.
As a senior for the Eagles, she earned All-Heartland first-team honors, starting all 56 games and hitting .361, scoring 57 runs and stealing 18 bases for a team that went 40-16 and advanced to a NCAA Division II regional title game. She finished fourth in the Heartland in stolen bases and fifth in batting average.
The past two seasons, she's served as an assistant coach at Connors State, a junior college in Warner. The Cowgirls went 18-30 during the 2021 season.
