Cernjanski to serve as volleyball graduate assistant for 2021-22

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 2, 2021) – Jovana Cernjanski, who just completed her volleyball playing career at Cumberland (Tenn.), will serve as a graduate assistant coach for Oklahoma Christian during the 2021-22 academic year, OC coach Jason Skoch said Friday.

Cernjanski, from Belgrade, Serbia, spent the past two seasons at Cumberland, a NAIA school that competes in the Mid-South Conference. A defensive specialist/libero, she played in 100 sets during the spring 2021 season, recording 273 digs, 20 aces and a stellar .954 receiving percentage.

She began her collegiate playing career at Arkansas-Little Rock in 2017, recording 77 digs, 11 assists and seven aces in 75 sets over 25 matches, then moved to Laredo College (Texas) for the 2018 season, where she had 52 digs and five aces in 28 sets over 12 matches.

She will be one of two GAs for OC this season, joining returning graduate assistant Yolaine Mosquera Lopez.
