NEW ORLEANS (May 21, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian sprinter
Verrell McBride picked up his second career All-South Central Region award on Friday when he was recognized by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the 200 meters.
The USTFCCCA recognizes the top five performers in each event from each region as an All-Region honoree. McBride, a junior from Norman, Okla., had the third-best time in the 200 among region runners, a 20.96-second clocking in the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships earlier this month.
As a freshman, McBride earned All-Region recognition in the 100 meters.
McBride will represent OC next week in the 200 in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Allendale, Mich.
