OKLAHOMA CITY (May 2, 2021) – A star turn in the pitching circle on Senior Day earned Oklahoma Christian softball player Bailey Turner recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.

Turner, a senior right-hander from Fort Worth, Texas, threw a complete-game two-hitter, helping No. 6-ranked OC beat Cameron 3-1 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday at Tom Heath Field, after the Eagles had stumbled in a 6-1 loss in the opener.

The split meant OC earned the right to host the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament later this month and guaranteed the Eagles a second-place finish in the toughest conference in NCAA Division II.

Turner retired Cameron's first six batters and only allowed a pair of singles while posting her fourth complete game of the season. She struck out five batters and walked only one. After the third inning, Turner didn't allow a Cameron runner past second base.

The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
