AUSTIN, Texas (March 25, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian sprinter
Verrell McBride finished the highest among the seven NCAA Division II runners competing in the 200 meters on Thursday night during the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
McBride, a junior from Norman, Okla., ran a season-best time of 21.80 seconds and finished 48th overall of 69 runners in the race.
More importantly, he posted a better time than competitors from fellow Division II programs Texas A&M-Commerce, Malone (Ohio), Lubbock Christian (Texas), Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State (Texas). All but Malone are in the Lone Star Conference along with OC.
McBride will run Friday at 2:15 p.m. in the 100 meters in the prestigious track and field meet.
