EDMOND, Okla. (Dec. 13, 2021) -- Annie Davis, a four-year starter for one of Oklahoma's top high school volleyball programs at Edmond Memorial, has signed to play collegiately at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach
Jason Skoch said Monday.
Davis, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter and middle hitter, earned All-State honors from the Oklahoma Coaches Association following her senior season and received honorable mention on
The Oklahoman's All-City list in each of her four seasons at Edmond Memorial.
She has an athletic family pedigree. Her father, OC swimming coach
Josh Davis, was a five-time Olympic medal winner in that sport, while her mother, Shantel, played college volleyball at Texas from 1993-96 and competed in the U.S. Olympic Festival in 1995. Her older brother, Luke, is a collegiate swimmer at Missouri.
Davis plays club volleyball for Oklahoma Peak Performance.
"Annie comes from another strong high school program near our campus, Edmond Memorial," Skoch said. "Both her parents were very successful college athletes and her father is a college coach. It's another example of me looking for players that understand the student-athlete life and choose it! Annie has a very heavy arm that will allow her to score at the college level. As she develops her blocking and serve/receive, she will contend for the outside hitter position that we rely on to score."
Skoch said he expects to announce more signings in the coming days.
