OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 3, 2021) – A sizzling start to 2021 earned Oklahoma Christian men's basketball player D.J. Walter recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.

Walter, a junior forward from Midwest City, hit his first six shots and matched his career high with 16 points in the Eagles' first game of the calendar year, an 80-66 loss at Angelo State (Texas) on Sunday afternoon. He finished 4 of 8 from 3-point range against the Rams.

Then a freshman, Walter also scored 16 points in a loss to Texas A&M International on Jan. 17, 2019.

The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
