Bethany defensive specialist joins OC volleyball program

Bethany High School standout Jacki Lynn will play volleyball at OC.
BETHANY, Okla. (May 13, 2020) – Jacki Lynn, a standout defensive specialist for Bethany High School, will join Oklahoma Christian's volleyball program for the 2020 season, OC coach Barry Wheeler said Wednesday.

Lynn helped Bethany post a 23-12 record and qualify for the Class 4A state tournament last fall. As a senior, she recorded 315 digs, 38 aces, 36 kills, 94 attacks and 125 assists with a 94.5 serve percentage for the Bronchos.

She holds Bethany career records for digs (1,194), aces (129) and serve attempts (1,227). Lynn received honorable mention on The Oklahoman's All-City list after both her junior (when Bethany went 26-8 and reached the 4A semifinals) and senior seasons.

"I'm very pleased that Jacki will be part of our program," Wheeler said. "She will bring high level skills and enthusiasm to the program. She is an outstanding leader and we have high expectations of her."

Lynn is the latest member of a 15-woman 2020 recruiting class for the Eagles. They will join eight other women who attended OC in 2019-20, training for the revival of the university's program this year.

OC announced in July 2018 it would again compete in volleyball after originally fielding a varsity program from 1976 to 1983. The Eagles will compete in NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference.
