FRISCO, Texas (March 4, 2020) –
Dedrian Parmer Jr. made the All-Lone Star Conference men's basketball second-team list announced Wednesday night, while fellow Oklahoma Christian seniors
Will Lienhard and
Aubrey Johnson received honorable mention.
The All-LSC honors were voted on by coaches from the league's 18 teams. OC finished 10-17 this season, qualifying for the LSC tournament in its first season in the conference.
"I'm so happy for these three seniors," OC coach
Kendre Talley said. "All season, they have played a huge role in all that we have done. In the toughest conference in the nation, that has some of the best players in NCAA Division II, these honors are a huge accomplishment. There are 18 quality teams in this league. These guys have worked hard and are very deserving of these honors."
Parmer Jr., a 6-foot-6 senior forward from Oklahoma City, starred in his one season with the Eagles after transferring from USAO, leading the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game and also averaging 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field. He ranked 13th, eighth and ninth in the LSC, respectively, in those categories.
He also made a mark on the LSC record book, going 11 for 11 from the field on Nov. 23 in a win over Texas A&M International, which research indicated was the third-best single-game shooting performance in the league's history.
Lienhard, a 6-foot-8 senior center from Oklahoma City, led the league in per-game rebounding (10.4) and blocked shots (2.5) – the only LSC player to top the conference in two major statistical categories – and ranked in the top 10 in NCAA Division II in both categories. He played a primary role as OC led the LSC in scoring defense at 66.3 points per game.
He also averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 assists per game. His 61 blocks this season was the seventh-best total in OC history and his 190 blocks over three seasons was No. 4 on OC's career list. Lienhard, the 2019 Heartland Conference co-defensive player of the year, was not chosen for the LSC's five-player All-Defensive team this season, but the all-conference award was the second of his career.
Johnson, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Mustang, Okla., was arguably the LSC's top long-range shooter, leading the league in made 3-pointers per game (3.5) and finishing third in 3-point percentage at 39.1 percent (95 of 243). He made seven or more 3-pointers four times this season.
His 14.9-point scoring average ranked 17th in the conference.
