SHAWNEE, Okla. (April 21, 2019) – Oklahoma Christian distance runner
Trevor Talley has been recognized by the Great American Conference with its Distinguished Scholar Athlete award for track and field.
The GAC recognized Talley and other award winners on Saturday at the end of the GAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Oklahoma Baptist.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed 70 or more college credit hours, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.70 and have competed at the conference meet. It was the second straight year for Talley to earn the award.
The senior mathematics major from Washington, Okla., ran in the 1,500 meters at the GAC meet, placing 16th with a time of 4:20.90.
Only 11 GAC track and field athletes earned Distinguished Scholar Athlete status.
