PITTSBURG, Kan. (Feb. 9, 2019) – Four Oklahoma Christian runners set personal-best times on Saturday in Pittsburg State's Indoor Gorilla Classic at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
Kelton Reynolds, a junior from Abilene, Texas, ran his career-best time of 8:44.50 in the 3,000 meters to place 25th of 57 runners, while
Javier Hernandez, a sophomore from Allentown, Pa., did the same in the 400 meters, finishing in 49.35 seconds to take 19th among 48 men. Former OC standout and current student assistant coach
Landon Huslig ran unattached in the 400, placing fourth in 47.65 seconds.
In the 800 meters, freshman
Nick Parizek of Oklahoma City (1:56.78) and
Reid Little of Amarillo, Texas (1:58.77) also had career-best times. Another former OC standout,
Sawyer Pehkonen, won his heat race while competing unattached and placed 37th among 90 runners in 1:56.69.
OC's only field-event competitor in the meet was sophomore
Joseph Owens of Mobile, Ala., in the triple jump. His top mark was 45 feet, 5 inches (13.84 meters), good for 19th place among 33 competitors.
