MIDLOTHIAN, Texas (Nov. 27, 2019) – Nyk Madison, a standout forward for Midlothian High School, has signed a letter of intent to play college basketball at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach
Kendre Talley said Wednesday.
Madison, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds and shot 60.3 percent from the field as a junior, earning All-District 14-5A first-team honors. As a sophomore, he played a key role on a Midlothian team that advanced to the Texas Class 5A semifinals.
He's off to a hot start as a senior this season, earning most valuable player honors in the Highland Park Scot Classic last week while leading Midlothian to the title.
He plays Amateur Athletic Union basketball for Texas Impact 4:13.
"We are super excited to have Nyk be the first addition to our 2020-21 class," OC coach
Kendre Talley said. "Nyk is a special kid, not only on the floor but off of the floor as well. He is a great player, person and student. His athleticism and toughness will have an instant impact on our program and we are even more excited about the future for this freshman. Signing Nyk is definitely a win for this program and also special because he is our first recruit to choose OC as his home."
Talley said he expects more players to sign in the coming weeks.
