Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 14, 2015) – A sizzling-shooting Cameron squad simply wasn't going to be caught by Oklahoma Christian in the final game of the Heartland-Lone Star Challenge in the Eagles' Nest.
Led by 25 points by the aptly named Cameron Lee, the Aggies shot 63.3 percent from the field in the second half, turning a four-point deficit into an 83-67 win over the Eagles on Saturday night.
OC (0-2) used hot shooting of its own to take – and hold – the lead for most of the first half. The Eagles shot 51.7 percent from the field before halftime and led by as many as eight points, going up 34-26 on a 12-foot jumper by
Cameron Peters in the final minute of the half.
Cameron (1-1) scored a couple of late baskets to pull within 34-30 by halftime. OC had four turnovers and three missed shots during the first three minutes of the second half as the Aggies scored the first seven points to take the lead.
The teams swapped the lead four times after that. OC's final lead came at 41-40 after a jumper by Peters with 13:50 left. Lee, who had 20 of his points after halftime, gave the Aggies the lead for good moments later with a fallaway jumper and they pulled away the rest of the game, stretching their advantage to 20 points in the latter stages.
Jordan Rutherford led OC with 16 points, while
Elijah Strickland had 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting despite battling foul trouble in the second half. Center
John Moon had nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots, while Peters added nine points.
Jamaal Bradley scored 18 points for the Aggies, with Deondre Ray adding 16 and J.V. Long scoring 10.
OC will host cross-Edmond rival Central Oklahoma on Tuesday night.
