BETHANY, Okla. (April 9, 2013) – Lindsy Moore threw a two-hit shutout to lift Oklahoma Christian past Southern Nazarene 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon in the second game of a doubleheader between the archrivals at Cypert Athletic Field.

SNU won the opener 10-2 in five innings.

Moore (6-8) threw arguably her finest game of the softball season, giving up only a pair of bunt singles to SNU's Kylie Lang. Moore walked five and struck out two in outdueling SNU pitcher Jeneva Nelson (4-10).

OC (18-17) took a 1-0 lead in the third inning, as Lauren Chatigny walked and scored on Courtney Starr's sacrifice fly. Moore and the Lady Eagles milked that slim advantage until the top of the seventh inning, when they jumped on Nelson for four runs on five hits.

Martha Thomas and Kala Ratliff each had an RBI single in the seventh and Lauren Pittman added a two-run single to center field. That gave Moore a five-run cushion heading into the bottom of the seventh, and she retired the Crimson Storm in order to end the game.

In the opener, SNU (15-27) had the upper hand, jumping on OC starter Taylor Mosher (6-5) for four runs in the first inning and cruising from there behind Lindy Fluman, who went 3-for-3 with two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored. Fluman's second homer, a three-run shot in the third inning, put SNU up 7-0.

OC pulled within 7-2 in the top of the fifth, thanks to an RBI single by Ratliff and a run-scoring double down the right-field line by Thomas, but SNU answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning off OC reliever Krystal Rodriguez. That was enough to end the game via the run rule.

Thomas went 3-for-3 for the Lady Eagles, but the rest of the team managed only three hits combined.

Maci-Brooke Lambert (10-12) went the distance in the pitching circle for the Crimson Storm.
