OKLAHOMA CITY (March 2, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian committed costly errors in each game and lost 4-3 and 6-3 to Central Methodist (Mo.) on Saturday at Dobson Field, giving the visitors a split of the four-game baseball series.

Central Methodist (2-2) scored the winning run in the eighth in the first game, as Eli Bowers singled home Mike Wagner, who had opened the inning with a single off OC reliever Daniel Sawyer (0-1).

Central Methodist took advantage of one of OC's two first-game errors to score twice in the second inning and led 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. OC (6-7) rallied to tie the game on RBI singles by Markus Carr and Jordan Lopez.

But the Eagles left 11 runners on base, which proved to be their undoing. Reliever Rhett Quinlan (1-1) picked up the win for Central Methodist, allowing three hits but no runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Blake Stringer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for OC, while Lopez and Carr had two hits each. Wagner was 3-for-4 for Central Methodist.

In the second game, only two of Central Methodist's six runs were earned, thanks to an OC error in a two-run second inning by CMU and another miscue during a three-run fourth inning that put Central Methodist up 5-1.

Tyler Schuman (0-1) took the loss for OC, allowing six hits and five runs – only one earned – in 3 2/3 innings. Wagner, Central Methodist's starter, allowed four hits and struck out six in four innings to move to 1-0.

Dillon Andrews had three hits for OC, while Garrett Stephenson had two, but the Eagles left nine men on base.

OC has added a home game Monday at 6 p.m. against Tabor (Kan.).
