The 25th-ranked Oklahoma Christian University men's basketball team moved to 6-3 on the season by defeating Mid-America Christian University 97-65 here Tuesday night.
Patrick Grewe came off the bench to lead Oklahoma Christian with a career-high 20 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the three-point line.
Mid-America scored the game's first points, but after OC's Keith Harris nailed a three-pointer to make the score 3-2, the Evangels never reclaimed the lead. The Eagles extended the lead to double digits at the 12:59 mark when Jason Taylor converted an old-fashioned three-point play to make the score 21-9.
The OC lead moved past 20 at 35-14 on Kyle Tefft's dunk at the 9:11 mark. The Eagles matched their largest lead of the half at 27 when Charles Baldwin came off a high screen to hit a deep three-pointer with less than five seconds remaining on the clock.
OC shot 62 percent from the field in the first half and 58-31 at the break. Grewe scored 13 first-half points, including three three-pointers.
The Eagles began the second half quickly when John Nottley scored off a Baldwin pass just 10 seconds in to extend the lead to 60-31. OC led by as many as 39 in the second half and cruised to the 32-point victory.
Micah Miles added 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Harris scored 13 points and Baldwin added 12. Freshman Jason Taylor chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds.
OC now turns its focus to Thursday's home contest against NCAA Division II foe Southeastern Oklahoma State. Southeastern is 6-0 on the season.
OC and SEOSU will meet for the first time since the 1995-96 season. The Eagles lead the all-time series 26-10.
