Game one box
Game two box

CLAREMORE, Okla. (April 9, 2009) – Oklahoma Christian dropped a soggy pair of games at Rogers State University (Okla.) Thursday. The Lady Eagles lost the first game 10-6 and the second 5-3.

Oklahoma Christian and Rogers State fought off rain, wind and a two and a half hour delay to get both games in. The Lady Eagles are now 23-14 on the season and 7-7 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Game One

The Lady Eagles gave up three runs in the first inning, but answered back with three runs of their own in the top of the second.

Tracy Washam got things going with a single up the middle. After a Tiffany Sherman single, Cara Miller drove in Washam with another base hit. Sherman then scored on an RSU error to make the score 3-2 before Miller tied it 3-3 on an RSU wild pitch.

In the bottom of the sixth, after RSU (23-15, 6-10 SAC) plated three more runs, the Lady Eagles cut into the lead when Casey Brady scored on a Miller groundout to make the score 6-4.

The Lady Eagles cut into the lead again in the top of the seventh with a two-out rally.

Christin Dobbs singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch to start things off. After an Amy
Urbanovsky walk, Brady singled to load the bases. Washam then came through with a single to drive in Dobbs. Urbanovsky scored the tying run on another RSU miscue to lock it at 6-6.

The tie didn't last long though. In the bottom of the seventh, after loading the bases, RSU's Allison Bean hit a walkoff grand slam to end the game with RSU ahead 10-6.

Linzi Farris (5-6) pitched 6.1 innings for the Lady Eagles, giving 10 runs (nine earned) on 10 hits and recording two strikeouts.

Miller led the Lady Eagles at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored. Washam went 2-for-4 and posted one RBI and one run scored.

Game Two

The Lady Eagles jumped on top early in the second game by scoring two runs in the first inning. Washam singled to left field to drive in Dobbs and Amber Canady to make the score 2-0.

RSU answered with two runs in the bottom of the first, and again in the bottom of the third to take the lead 4-2.

In the top of the fifth the Lady Eagles cut into the lead when Dobbs scored on a fielder's choice to make the score 4-3.

But RSU answered again with a security run in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 5-3 and keep the Lady Eagles at bay.

Sophia McKean (6-2) threw six innings for the Lady Eagles, giving up five runs on six hits and posting three strikeouts.

Washam had another solid performance at the dish, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Dobbs went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Lady Eagles take the field this weekend when they head to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on Texas Wesleyan University.
