In Saturday's first game, Oklahoma Christian lossed an old-fashioned 1-0 pitcher's duel to No. 3 St. Gregory's University (Okla.).

SGU's Sharon Bell, fresh of breaking the NAIA career strike out record earlier in the week, and OC's Linzi Farris held the game in a scoreless tie through the first five innings.

Both hurlers allowed just one hit over the first five frames.

But in the sixth inning, SGU moved Dailyn Dauman into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt after she reached on an error.

Nicole Tindall then broke the scoreless draw with a single to left field that scored Dauman and put the Lady Cavaliers on top 1-0.

OC had the one-two-three spots in the lineup due up the seventh, but went down in order against Bell.

The game saw just three hits, two going to SGU and one to OC. Amy Urbanovsky tallied the Lady Eagles' lone knock, a double in the second inning.

Farris (11-8) went all seven innings and surrendered just one unearned score. The Edmond, Okla., native allowed just four base runners all game on two hits.

Bell had nine strikeouts and no walks.

The loss set up a 6 p.m. meeting with Peru State College (Neb.).

Caitlin Matthies held PSC scoreless the whole way for her fourth blanking of the season. The freshman from Littleton, Colo., improved to 11-6 on the year with a seven-hit, three-strikeout performance.

PSC looked like they would take a 1-0 lead in the first after a Texas-leaguer double from Jen Siedlik and single from Brittany Fry. But on Fry's hit Lady Eagle left fielder Sandra Darmstadt hosed Seidlik at home plate to end the inning.

OC broke through with six runs in the third inning. The Lady Eagles sent 12 batters to the plate in the stanza and collected eight hits.

Consecutive bunt singles from Christin Dobbs and Deidre Chatigny set up runners at first and second with no outs to get things started. After Tracy Washam singled through the left side, the bases were loaded with no one retired.

Then Amy Urbanovsky delivered a sacrifice fly to center to plate Dobbs and make it 1-0. Two batters later, Rachel Smith lifted a single to center, sending Washam across home.

Allissa Hejl continued the rally with another hit to score Darmstadt to put the Lady Eagles up 3-0. The lead swelled to 5-0 when Casey Brady knocked a double into the right-center field gap to score Smith and Hejl.

In Dobbs' second at-bat of the frame, the lefty slapper completed the scoring with a bouncing single in between third and short to score Brady and make it 6-0.

OC went up 7-0 when Chatigny chased Brady home on a fielder's choice in the fifth.

Dobbs and Brady each went 3-for-3 in the win. Smith was 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored.

The final game of the event put OC against Bellevue (Neb.) for the second time in as many days.

The Lady Bruins scored first on an unearned run in the second. Then OC answered in its half when Brady doubled in Darmstadt to tie it at 1-1.

The game remained knotted until the fifth when two leadoff walks and a single from Sarah Walck, a double from Jordann Ellis and another single from Erica Zerkle pushed BU up 4-1. After a sacrifice fly by Nikki Sedlack, the Lady Eagles trailed 5-1.

In the home half, OC got one back on a Jessica Hauf pinch-hit double into right-center field. The two-bagger plated Tiffany Sherman and made it 5-2.

Washam then bounced a high chopper over the third baseman's head to plate the re-entered Courtney Gunderson and make it 5-3.

The Lady Bruins responded with two in the top of the sixth to build back a 7-3 cushion.

But OC could not add on despite a bases-loaded, no-out situation in the sixth.

Washam was 2-for-4 in the final game, while Darmstadt went 2-for-2.

Sophia Johnson took the loss to fall to 4-7 on the season.

OC completes the tournament at 28-21 overall. The Lady Eagles are off until April 28 when they take on No. 11 Rogers State (Okla.) in Sooner Athletic Conference action. A day later on April 29, OC plays its final regular-season game at Northwestern Oklahoma State in a makeup game.
