OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Dec. 12, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian Eagles had no problem taking it to the net against Southwestern Christian University (Okla.) on Saturday afternoon, playing to a 75-54 victory in the Eagles' nest.
The Eagles' Jason Taylor routinely got things started for the Eagles with back-to-back scores. Despite three ties and loosing the lead once, the Eagles utilized a 15-2 run against Southwestern Christian to leave the score 32-19 after being tied 17-17 with 11:23 left in the first period.
The OC men lost no momentum in the second half breaking on a 20-3 run in the first five minutes of the period with several key plays by Chad Endres.
The Eagles utilized their entire bench during the half and increased their lead to as many as 29 points before time ran out.
Taylor played to yet another double-double game scoring 17 points for the Eagles and grabbing 14 boards. Taylor additionally made two assists and three steals. Endres and Taylor worked together under the basket with Endres taking his play to the outside draining four of six treys and totaling 15 points and five rebounds.
David Jackson and Devan White held down the perimeter for the Eagles each putting up 10 points. Jackson also made four assists and three steals while White pulled down five rebounds and made two assists.
Brandon Troutman saw increased time off the bench and scored six points for the Eagles and made one assist.
The Eagles continued shooting on target with 40 percent accuracy for the game.
The OC men continue their undefeated season record now at 11-0 with the victory over Southwestern Christian.
The Eagles return to the Nest on Dec. 29 to host Sterling College (Kan.) at 7 p.m. before heading back into conference play on Jan. 2.
