Garrett Stephenson had two hits for OC in a 13-4 loss to York (Neb.).
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 14, 2012) – York (Neb.) hit six home runs, including two each by Brett Nathan and Jordan Leis, and the Panthers rolled to a 13-4 win over Oklahoma Christian on Wednesday afternoon at Dobson Field.
OC (7-12) dropped its seventh straight game. Garrett Stephenson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Eagles' 12-hit attack, but four OC pitchers combined to allow the Panthers 17 hits.
OC led 3-2 entering the fifth inning before York (12-10) scored three runs, two on a home run by Leis off OC starter Tanner Hessman (0-1), to take a 5-3 lead. Stephenson singled and scored on Dillon Andrews' single in the sixth to pull the Eagles within 5-4, but York scored four runs in both the seventh and ninth innings.
Leis finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and also hit a home run in the seventh. Nathan hit a solo home run in the fourth and a two-run shot in the seventh. Junior Carrizoza and Zach Garcia also homered for the Panthers. Pat Burford added a 3-for-6 effort for York.
Hessman, Caleb Price and Blain Elliott also had two hits each for OC.
Hessman allowed five runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings on the mound for OC. Brett Nathan (2-4) gave up 11 hits but only four runs in 5 2/3 innings for the Panthers.
OC will face its fourth opponent in as many days on Thursday when the Eagles host Sooner Athletic Conference rival St. Gregory's at 6 p.m.
