NORMAN, Okla. - Not one but two Oklahoma Christian women's indoor track and field records fell Friday afternoon at the Oklahoma Classic as the Eagles competed in their penultimate regular season meet before the conference championships.
Women
True freshman
Nyla Bentley was the story of the meet for the women, breaking a three-year school record in the 60-meter dash by three hundredths of a second with a time of 7.54, finishing third in the event while currently sitting 22nd in NCAA Division II.
For the second straight week,
Laniyah Curry broke her own school record in the long jump, this time clearing a distance of 20-1.33 feet (6.13m). Curry, after getting second in the event, is now sixth in DII in the long jump.
Freshman
Aletheia Bigelow recorded a pair of top-6 finishes in the 800m (2:25.84) and 600y (1:34.09) to round off the top Eagle women finishers.
Men
With no OC men competing in field events, the track held the notable results with the men seeing a pair of third-place finishes. True freshmanÂ
George Simon and
Blake Morrison got bronze in the 800m (1:59.93) and in the one mile race (4:32.88), respectively. Simon also placed fifth in the 600y (1:17.68).

Oklahoma Christian will compete at the two-day Ichabod Invite hosted by Washburn in Topeka, Kan., Feb. 13-14 before taking to Albuquerque, N.M., for the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28.
