LUBBOCK, Texas - Following his Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week nod,
Corbin Kwan was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Central Region Pitcher of the Week, the NCBWA announced Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Kwan is the first OC pitcher to be named region pitcher of the week since
Tristan Copeland in 2025 and just the fourth-ever Eagle to earn the award.
Kwan (2-1) picked up the honor after earning his second win of the season after pitching six scoreless innings while striking out nine batters against No. 12 Angelo State. Between Kwan and closerÂ
Evan Ballast, OC delivered ASU just its second home shutout since 2023. Nine strikeouts is also the most punch-outs thrown by a single pitcher against the Rams this season.
On the season, the Edmond, Okla., native is 13th in the conference with a 4.34 ERA while being tied for fifth with 21 strikeouts.
Oklahoma Christian returns home from a weekend in San Angelo, Texas, for a four-game series at Dobson Baseball Field against Texas A&M International beginning Friday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.
