WICHITA, Kan. - Oklahoma Christian track and field competed in Wichita, Kan. for the Friends University Spring Invitational.Â
Women:
Once again it was the jumpers who showed out for the Eagles this week with
Laila Ahmed leading the way with a victory in the woman's High Jump. Ahmed posted a jump of 1.66m (5-5.25) with
Emory Glavan and
Kayedence Bruner also posting top-7 finishes with Glavan finishing sixth with a jump of 1.51m (4-11.50) and Bruner finishing seventh with a jump of 1.46m (4-9.50).
On the track it was
Katie Bosley who led the way for the Eagles, posting two top-10 finishes for the day. Bosley finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 57.78 while teammate
Aaliyah Haugh finished sixth in a time of 1:02.10. Bosley also competed in the 200m where she finished in sixth place with a time of 25.95.
In the 400m hurdles, the Eagles also posted two top-10 finishes with
Jamie Morgan finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:06.08 and
Sydney Adee finishing seventh in a time of 1:11.18.
In the 800m, freshman twins Kristen and
Lauren Kirk finished 10th and 11th, respectively, with times of 2:23.81 and 2:26.21.
Men:
Alex Samples posted another pair of top-10 finishes in the men's High Jump and Triple Jump. Samples finished sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.95m (6-4.75) and third in the triple jump with a jump of 14.23m (46-8.25). Joshua Aiken was also able to place in the top 10 finishing 10th with a jump of 13.38m (43-10.75).
In the 800m,
Carter Hoelzle was the top finisher for the Eagles coming in 13th place with a time of 2:01.93.

The remainder of the Eagles who did not compete at the Friends Spring Invitational will travel to Norman, Okla. tomorrow for the John Jacob's Invitational at the University of Oklahoma Thursday, Apr. 3.Â
