No. 18 OC Set for Sooner State Showdown Versus No. 6 Rogers St.

EDMOND, Okla. - No. 18 Oklahoma Christian will face its fourth NFCA Top-20 opponent of the season Tuesday, Mar. 18 when the Eagles host No. 6 Rogers State from Claremore, Okla. for a midweek doubleheader at Lawson Softball Complex beginning at 3 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (19-9, 12-8 LSC)
After a disappointing doubleheader loss to St. Edward's in Austin, Texas, this past Friday, Mar. 14, featuring two walk-offs from the Hilltoppers, OC responded nicely with a pair of victories over St. Mary's in San Antonio - the same place it lost two of three last season. Pitcher Grace Anderson clinched the twin-bill sweep with a complete-game effort in game two, pitching eight strikeouts to just three walks and allowing one run on four hits.

At the plate, Kallie Rupp (4-for-7) recorded a pair of hits in both contests against the Rattlers, including a triple and a double, to go with four runs scored and two RBI. Rupp, who has started all 28 games for the Eagles at shortstop, is fourth on the team with a .371 batting average and is tied for fourth among players with at least 10 starts with a .400 on-base percentage. Leading in that category is Marti Yaerger with a .525 on-base percentage after extending her on-base streak to 21 games.

Beginning Tuesday, Oklahoma Christian will open a high-profile six-game home stand, four of which will be against Top-10 opponents. The Eagles are 10-2 at home this season but are just 1-2 against Top-20 teams on Tom Heath Field, with the one win coming in non-conference action against No. 20 Southern Nazarene during the UCO/OC Classic earlier this season, 3-1.

Tuesday will be the 54th and 55th meeting between the Eagles and the Hillcats, with Oklahoma Christian leading the all-time series, 34-20. Both contests last year in Claremore went to extra innings, with RSU prevailing in both. The maroon-and-gray are 2-1 in the last three home games against RSU.

SCOUTING No. 6 ROGERS STATE (20-5, 6-2 MIAA)
No. 6 Rogers St. opened the 2025 campaign in Gulf Shores, Ala., at the Gulf Shores Invitational, where it went 2-3. Since then, the Hillcats have won 18 of their last 20 games, including wins over then-No. 20 Southern Nazarene and then-No. 5 Augustana, where RSU allowed a combined one total run. This is the fourth consecutive year Rogers has started 20-5 or better through 25 games.

The Hillcat offense is led by senior catcher Abbey Rogers and redshirt sophomore infielder Kaylee Lyon, who are hitting .493 and .447, respectively. Rogers has the 12th highest batting average in all of NCAA Division II among players who have at least 35 hits. In the circle, RSU's three starters each have an ERA below 3.75, starting with ace Jade Sanders at 2.65.
