FINAL RESULTS
Wichita, Kan. - Oklahoma Christian traveled to Wichita State University to kick off their 2025 indoor track season at the Friends University First chance Qualifier Saturday, Jan. 11th.
Women's Results
The stand out performer of the meet went to
Laniyah Curry who broke her own school record and jumped a national qualifier provisional mark in the long jump with a jump of 5.92m or 19'5.25" while also taking out the overall win in the event. Freshman Jaime Morgan finished in third place with a jump of 5.30m or 17'4.75". Curry also competed in the 60m in which she placed third in with a time of 7.83s.Â
In the 1000m race it was freshman
Kristen Kirk who took the win crossing the line in 3:06.99. Twin sister Lauren was not far behind in third with a time of 3:12.41.Â
The 4x400 team consisting of
Aaliyah Haugh, Jaime Morgan,
Kristen Kirk and
Lauren Kirk finished in second place with a time of 4:14.75.
Emory Glavan also finished second in the high jump with a jump of 1.60m or 5'3".Â
Men's Results
For the men it was
Stacy Smith who posted a pair of impressive performances taking the victory in the long jump with a jump of 6.83m or 22'5" while also coming in third in the triple jump with an effort of 13.20m or 43'3.75". DeMontre Boykins was fifth in the long jump with an effort of 6.57m or 21'6.75" while Joshua Aiken was 6th in the triple jump with an effort of 12.41m or 40'8.75". Boykins also competed in the high jump finishing in third place with a jump of 1.90m or 6'2.75".
In the men's 1000m in was a one-two finish for the Eagles with
Carter Hoelzle and
Jack Sydnes finishing in first and second respectively with times of 2:39.97 and 2:40.69. In the 800m it was
Jonah Hays who represented the Eagles finishing in third place with a time of 2:05.50.
Noah Fitzgerald finished in fourth place in the 600m with a time of 1:25.84 while
Cole Powell was the Eagles' top finisher in the mile coming in third with a time of 4:36.81.
The 3000m was also a 1-2 sweep for the Eagles with
Blake Morrison and
Cole Powell Coming in first and second respectively with times of 9:11.30 and 9:15.42.
In the mens 60m it was
Isaac Koomson who finished 8th overall in a time of 7.03.Â

The Eagles will now compete close to home in Norman, Okla. for the J.D Martin Invitational Saturday, Jan. 17th at the University of Oklahoma.Â
