Six Eagles Earn Lone Star Conference Awards

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Lone Star Conference announced the 2024 conference awards at tonight's banquet that kicks off the Lone Star Conference Championships.
 
The softball all-conference awards are determined by a vote of the league's head coaches, who select a 25-player first team with 16 recognized by position and nine at-large selections, followed by 15 players on the second and third teams.
 
Oklahoma Christian found itself involved on all the lists, including all-conference teams, gold glove, and all-academic teams.

Senior Kylie Janzen was on the LSC second and All-Academic teams, crushing it in the classroom throughout her career. On the field this year, Janzen was fourth on the team with RBIs (17) and doubles (7), second in walks (28), and had a .978 fielding percentage.
 
Senior Whitney Walde had a big year as one of the conference's top catchers with a .997 fielding percentage on 26 assists, catching 13 runners stealing, and only allowing 6 past balls while starting all 52 games. Walde led the team in batting average at .322 and on-base percentage at .408. She also scored 26 runs on 9 doubles and drove in 13 RBIs.
 
Senior Aaliyah Brown was named to both the LSC second team and the gold glove team and on the season had a .392 on-base percentage, with 18 RBIs and 31 walks, and was second on the team in home runs (3).
 
Jill Dickson and Grace Anderson were the Eagles' underclassman representation after the duo had a great year in the circle. Kiley Brewster joins the two pitching underclassman with earning this honor for the Eagles. 
 
Dickson threw 2 no-hitters and 12 complete games en route to a 15-win season, striking out 120 opponents, while holding them to a .220 batting average.
 
Anderson spun 10 complete games, picking up 14 wins, while striking out 107 batters over 156 innings in the circle.

Brewster holds a hitting percentage of .296 and an on-base percentage .329 to help the Eagles from the plate. Brewster has also helped the Eagles by bring in 16 runs for the Eagles.

OC will take the field Friday afternoon to open their trip to the Lone Star Conference Championships, with a matchup against St. Mary's.
