Bente Takes First Place, Eagles Earn National Bids at the Mid-American Regional Championship

Emporia, Kan. - It was a great weekend for the Oklahoma Christian disc golf team as they traveled up to Emporia, Kansas, for the Mid-American Regional Championship to compete with many teams from across the country.
 
After the singles round of the tournament, Henry Bente battled and took 1st place, shooting -9 in a field of 128.
 
On the women's side, Camille Schlegel placed second, just one stroke off the leader.
 
Going into the final round of team play, the D1 squad was one stroke behind ESU, setting the stage for a classic battle. After a long day battling the wind, OC finished the tournament in second place at -22.
 
The D2 squad played phenomenal golf, placing 7th, besting many D1 schools, and they secured their bid to nationals!
 
Additionally, the D3 squad played cleanly, placing 11th in a field of 32 teams. Camille Schlegel and Evie Munn shot consistent rounds to place 2nd overall in a strong women's field.
