Oklahoma City, Okla-Oklahoma Christian will co-host a tournament this weekend with the University of Central Oklahoma. The classic will take place over three days at two locations, starting with a big matchup between No. 16 Oklahoma Christian and No. 3 Central Oklahoma at OC on Thursday evening. 

What To Know About The Eagles 

• Head Coach Shalee Rodriguez is entering her 3rd season at the helm for the Eagles. Rodriguez holds an overall record of 77-32.

• Last season, the Eagles finished with an overall record of 38-17 and a 29-13 conference record.

• The Eagles fell short in the Lone Star Conference Championship, losing to UT Tyler 4-3. 

• In the NCAA South Central Regional championship, OC battled with UT Tyler before the Patriots won to end the season.

• The Eagles Return 14 from last year's roster, including seven seniors. They were highlighted a season ago by sophomore pitcher Jill Dickson and senior shortstop Kristen Whitehouse, and look for big years from Grace Anderson, Kylie Janzen, 2022 All-American Aaliyah Brown, two-sport athlete Brooklin Bain, and Whitney Walde. 

• The Eagles added three freshmen Karissa Fiegener, Haylee Monden, Kallie Rupp, and sophomore transfer Presley Main.

What to know about the Bronchos 

• Cody White is in his 11th season as the Bronchos head coach. 

• UCO is coming off a record-setting 2023 season with 54 wins, an MIAA conference championship, a Central Region championship, and the program's 1st World Series appearance in 10 years.

• The Bronchos were picked to retain the crown as conference champion in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.  

• UCO is returning 3 All-Americans senior outfielder Jacee Minter, junior pitcher/infielder Terin Ritz, and sophomore shortstop Emily Deramus. 

• The Bronchos also return 2 All-Conference players and another 2 starters from last year's roster.

What to know about the Hillcats 

• Andrea Vaughan is in her 9th season as the Hillcats head coach. She is the only coach at RSU to ever win a national championship when, in 2022, the Hillcats' claimed the National Championship. 

• RSU comes into this season trying to get to 40+ for the 3rd time in a row. 

• The Hillcats were picked to finish 2nd in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, just behind UCO. 

• The Hillcats went 5-1 last weekend at the DII First Pitch Invitational. At this tournament, RSU faced 4 LSC teams. 

• The Hillcats are led by pitcher Sara Llamas-Howell, who was recently named MIAA Pitcher of the Week. Last year, Llamas-Howell was named MIAA Pitcher of the Year and received the honor of NFCA Second Team All-American.

What to know about the Gorillas 

• Head coach Jenny Fuller is entering her 4th season with PSU.

• The Gorillas were picked to finish 7th in the  MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll. 

• The Gorillas finished last year with an overall record of 27-21 and a conference record of 12-14. 

• PSU is off to a 6-0 start after competing at the DII First Pitch invitational. At this tournament, PSU faced 3 LSC, run-ruling 2 of them. 

• Over the six games, the Gorillas scored 39 runs. 

• PSU is led by the hot start from sophomore utility player Heather Arnett. Arnett just earned the honors of MIAA Hitter of the Week.

What to know about the Bison

• Sam Maples is in her 6th season as the Bison's head coach. Maples has led the Bison to a great amount of success since 2018 and was named GAC Coach of the Year last season.

• OBU is coming off their best season since joining NCAA Division II with an overall record of 44-12 and 28-5 in conference play. Including winning the GAC championship last year.

• The Bison were picked to win the Great American Conference in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

• OBU is returning their entire starting lineup from last season. 

• OBU is being led by ace 5th-year pitcher Kayleigh Jones. Jones became OBU's first All-American in the Division II era and took home the honor of the GAC Female Athlete of the Year. She was also named GAC and D2CCA Central Region Pitcher of the Year. 

• Along with Jones, the Bison are returning the GAC 2023 Player of the Year, Emily Alder, and Freshman of the Year, Kennedy Clark. As well as 3 other All-Conference selections.

• OBU took down UCO last week in the Mardi Gras Invitational.
