Jones Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-LSC Honoree

RICHARDSON, Texas - Following the program's first 20-win season in the NCAA Division II era, Oklahoma Christian volleyball's Chloe Jones was named Co-Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Lone Star Conference, the league announced Wednesday, Nov. 20.

This is the fifth year in a row Oklahoma Christian has had a player named All-Conference while Jones becomes the first Eagle to ever be selected either Freshman of the Year or Second Team All-LSC.

The All-Conference nod comes after Jones delivered the best freshman season in program history and one of the best all-around seasons after recording a single-season program record 368 kills as of Wednesday, Nov. 20.

The Waukee, Iowa, native closed the regular season 26th in the LSC with a .254 hitting percentage. The freshman outside was tied for the fewest errors among league players with at least 900 total attacks and the fewest errors among players with at least 1000 total attacks.

In addition to her offensive prowess, Jones' defense has her as only one of three LSC players in the Top-20 in both kills per set (3.26, 13th) and digs per set (3.34, 16th). For the regular season, the freshman phenom accumulated 18 double-doubles, averaging 12.3 kills and 12.6 digs per match.

Jones and the Eagles will now turn to the 2024 LSC Tournament where they will face No. 10 Angelo State in the quarterfinals Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m. CT from Canyon, Texas, on the campus of top-seed West Texas A&M University.
