MEN'S RESULTS
KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Oklahoma Christian men's cross country team continued its season in Kingsville, Texas, for the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships in what was brutal conditions for the men as they raced over 8km.Â
The Eagle men were able to record a ninth-place team finish and even given the brutal conditions, were able to see some breakthrough performances. Cole Davenport and Ethan Anthony led the Eagles, staying with each other for the majority of the race. After going out towards the front of the field, both found the back end of the race a challenge with the conditions taking its toll over the final stages. Davenport finished in 42nd with a time of 26:27 with Anthony just behind in 44th with a time of 26:33.
The duo of Davenport and Anthony were closely followed by the remaining three scorers for the Eagles in which all three were able to put through breakthrough performances even with the conditions. Jack Lindley was the third runner for the Eagles finishing in 47th with a time of 26:36 with Carter Hoelzle just behind in 49th with a time of 26:39, taking off a huge chunk of time from his previous best 8km performance. Brodey Skipworth rounded out the scorers for the Eagles, finishing in 54th with a time of 26:46, which was also a personal best time over the distance.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to two weeks time where they will race in the South Central regional championships in Denver Colorado which presents a new challenge in terms of the conditions and race distance (10km) on November 9.
