Lubbock, Texas - Oklahoma Christian track and field turned in strong performances at the Lone Star Conference Championships, with the men taking 5th place and the women taking 9th.
 
Men's Performances
 
Verrell McBride hit a provisional mark in the 100 Meters Finals, with a time of 10.51, and ran a 10.49 in the prelims. The 10.51 time was good for 6th place in the finals.
 
Dylan Burrows had a second-place finish in the 800 Meters Finals, finishing the race with a time of 1:51.99. Keiontae Williamson took 6th in the event with a time of 1:56.46.
 
Owen Pearce posted a top-five finish in the 5000 Meters, taking 4th place with a time of 15:05.84.
 
Griffin Chesire finished the 3000 Steeplechase with a time of 10:06.37 and took 5th place in the event.
 
Wyatt Thiel took place in the High Jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 2.05m, 6'8.75" on the conversion.
 
Torrion Montgomery highlighted the men's performances by winning the Long Jump, with a mark of 7.42m, 24'4.25", an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
 
Chaney Martin took 3rd place in the Decathlon, registering 6723 points, which was also an NCAA provisional mark.
 
Women's Performances
 
Bryah Davis placed 3rd in the 100 Meters Finals with an NCAA provisional time of 11.63.
 
Elizabeth Heffernan took 3rd in the 1500 Meters Finals with a time of 4:50.33.
 
Leah Oguntope finished in 3rd place in the Hammer with a mark of 47.90m, 157'2" on the conversion.
 
THOUGHTS FROM COACH MILLER
 
We had some great performances from both the men and women. Torrion winning the long jump and placing 5th in high jump was our high point athlete on the men's side and the 3rd place from Bryah in the 100m and 3rd place from Leah in the hammer were our high point athletes on the women's side. Overall, I felt we competed well, and we had some people outperform their ranking coming into the meet.
