Men's Race
For their last race before entering the Championship season, the Eagles ventured to Dallas for the DBU Old Glory Gallop. The men raced over 8k on what turned out to be a very favorable and fast course.
The OC men had a good day, finishing 4th out of 28 teams with 156 points. East Central was the eventual winner, finishing with 16 points and placing their top 6 runners in the top 10.
Jess Dunsmore and
Colten Brown were the standouts for the Eagles today as they worked together in the leading packs throughout much of the race to finish individually 15th and 16th, with times of 24:46 and 24:47.
Tegan Arega also battled hard with them for the majority of the race and hung on for a 24th-place finish in 25:01.
Dylan Burrows and
Austin McNair rounded out the Eagles' top 5, with McNair making some strong in-race moves to eventually find himself up with Burrows as they crossed the line. The pair finished 52nd and 54th with times of 25:30 and 25:32.
Griffin Chesire also had a solid day for the Eagles, recording a top 100 finish, coming through in 26:17 for an eventual 99th place. For Dunsmore and McNair, both performances amounted to personal record times over the 8km distance.

The Eagles will be at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Portales, New Mexico, where the Eagles will look to come home with some hardware.
Women's Race
For their last race before entering the Championship season, the Eagles ventured to Dallas for the DBU Old Glory Gallop. The woman raced over 5km on what turned out to be a very favorable and fast course.
The Eagle Woman placed 8th out of 33 total teams in a strong showing, taking down some conference rivals in the process.
Andrea Garcia Gonzalez and
Jacinda Kwambai led the way for the eagles as they found themselves side by side for the majority of the race. Gonzalez, in the end, posted a top 20 finish, placing 19th in a time of 18:24, with Kwambai just behind in 21st with a time of 18:30.
Itzel Flores was the Eagles' 3rd runner, finishing in 59th with a time of 19:14, with
Hope Fletcher coming through next in 103rd with a time of 19:55.
Madison Coskey rounded out the top 5 for the Eagles, finishing in 141st with a time of 20:38.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will now look towards the Lone Star Conference championships in 2 weeks where they will travel to Portales New Mexico where they hope to improve upon their 3rd place finish from last year's championships.
