PORTALES, N.M. - Women's cross country takes fifth, and men take third at the Lone Star Conference Championships hosted by Eastern New Mexico.
WOMEN'S RACE
The Eagles team would finish in fifth place in the 6k race, with Andrea Garcia Gonzales leading the way for OC. She finished 13th overall with a time of 22:42. With that finish, Garcia Gonzales earned All-Conference honors. The next finisher for the Eagles was
Jacinda Kwambai, crossing in 23:05 inside the top 20 at 18th place.
Itzel Flores finished next for the Eagles with a time of 23:52 in 31st overall.
Hope Fletcher crossed the finish line with a time of 25:09 for the Eagles. Just behind Fletcher,
Madison Coskey crossed for the Eagles with a time of 25:49.
MEN'S RACE
Led by Tegan Arega and
Colten Brown, the Eagles finished in third as a team in the 8k race. Colton Brown finished in a time of 25:30 and crossing in ninth place individually, followed closely by teammate Tegan Arega who crossed in 25:44 and in 13th individually. With these times, both earned All-Conference honors.
Jess Dunsmore was the next to finish for OC, crossing the finish line with a finish of 20th place, in a time of 26:00.9.
Austin McNair was coming across just a few seconds later, in 23rd place with a time of 26:09.87, and
Dylan Burrows finished in 24th in a time of 26:13.29.
Griffin Chesire posted a top-40 finish with a time of 26:57.19, and
Brodey Skipworth came in a bit later with a time of 27:40.38.
