RICHARDSON, Texas (June 29, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian was named Thursday as the Lone Star Conference academic champion for men's cross country, the first OC program in any sport to receive such recognition.

The honor is presented to the program in each LSC-sponsored sport that has the highest team grade-point average for an academic year. OC's men's cross country team had a GPA of 3.515 for the 2021-22 year.

OC has been a member of the LSC – which now has 18 schools – since the 2019-20 academic year.

The roster for OC's men's cross country team last season included sophomore Ethan Anthony of Mornington, Australia; freshman Cade Berkey of Hydro, Okla.; sophomore Colten Brown of Boise City, Okla.; sophomore Dylan Burrows of Melbourne, Australia; freshman Griffin Chesire of Eldoret, Kenya; and freshman Christian Fair of Stillwater, Okla.

Also on the team were sophomore Kolten Johnson of Lewisburg, Tenn.; freshman Franklin Kiplagat of Nairobi, Kenya; sophomore Austin McNair of Denton, Texas; senior Colton Meyers of Allen, Texas; sophomore Owen Pearce of Kingman, Kan.; and junior Jelte van Atten of Leiden, Netherlands.

The Eagles were coached by Wade Miller.
