PITTSBURG, Kan. (Feb. 11, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian sprinter
Aysha Robinson advanced into the final in the 60 meters, finishing fifth in the preliminary round on Friday on the opening day of the Indoor Gorilla Classic at Pittsburg State's Robert W. Plaster Center.
Robinson was one of eight sprinters to emerge from a field of 75. Her OC teammate,
Bryah Davis, took 15th in 7.80 seconds. Davis also placed 17th in the 200 meters in 25.25 seconds.
Junior
Kenya Bailey posted a time of 18:10.76 in the 5,000 meters, good for a 16th-place finish among 49 women, and freshman
Ruth Oguntope finished 27th in the 600 yards in 1:39.50.
In field events, junior
Morgan Ray placed 32nd of 40 in the long jump at 16 feet, 1½ inches (4.91 meters), sophomore
Taelor Brown took 34th in the weight throw at 42 feet, 1 inch (12.84 meters) and sophomore
Nikkita Addy was two spots behind Brown with a top mark of 40 feet, 11 inches (12.48 meters).
The meet will continue on Saturday.
