Kenya Bailey posted a top-10 finish in the 3,000 meters and
Emma Davison had a strong showing in the mile as Oklahoma Christian wrapped up competition on Saturday in the Washburn Open at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
Bailey, a junior from Ponca City, Okla., was just 1.02 seconds off her personal-best time while finishing eighth among 34 women in the 3,000 in 10:28.03. OC junior
Caroline Schwab of Andover, Kan., did post a personal-best time of 10:58.50 in the race, good for a 14th-place finish.
Davison, a junior from Mason City, Iowa, placed 12th among 36 runners in the mile with a time of 5:31.33. Sprinters
Aysha Robinson (a junior from Round Rock, Texas) and
Bryah Davis (a sophomore from Cedar Hill, Texas) finished 14th and 16th, respectively, in the 60 meters. Robinson had a time of 7.83 seconds while Davis finished in 7.84 seconds.
Morgan Ray, a junior from Edmond, Okla., had a top mark of 16 feet, 5¼ inches (5.01 meters), good for a 13th-place showing among 31 women.
Taelor Brown, a sophomore from Pawnee, Okla., led a three-woman OC contingent in the shot put, placing 15th among 35 throwers with a mark of 36 feet, 7¾ inches (11.17 meters).
Leah Oguntope, a sophomore from Houston, placed 28th at 32 feet, 2¼ inches (9.81 meters) while freshman
Caitlyn Windell of East Peoria, Ill., produced a season-best throw of 31 feet, 8 inches (9.65 meters) to finish 29th.
The Eagles will wrap up the regular season of indoor track and field on Feb. 11-12 in the Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
