NORMAN, Okla. (Jan. 22, 2022) – If you're keeping count, that's now three times in as many meets this indoor track and field season in which
Aysha Robinson has equaled or broken Oklahoma Christian's record in the 60-meter dash.
Robinson, a junior from Round Rock, Texas,
won her preliminary heat on Saturday in Oklahoma's J.D. Martin Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Facility with a time of 7.68 seconds. In doing so, she dropped her own school record (set last week in the Washburn Rust Buster in Topeka, Kan.) by .05 of a second.
In OC's first meet of the season in December in Pittsburg, Kan., she tied
Lawanda Harvey's former school mark of 7.74 seconds.
On Saturday, she finished third among 34 sprinters in the preliminary round but chose not to run in the final for which she qualified. She's just .01 of a second from posting a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 60 meters.
Three Eagles competed in the 60 meters. Joining Robinson were sophomore
Bryah Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas, who finished 11th in a career-best time 7.82 seconds, and junior
Morgan Ray of Edmond, who took 31st in 8.77 seconds.
Ray also competed in the long jump, in which her mark of 16 feet, 1½ inches (4.91) put her 11th in the 16-woman field.

Ruth Oguntope of Houston, who finished fifth of six women in the 600 yards with a time of 1:44.21.
