CANYON, Texas (May 8, 2021) –
Kelsey Castillo scored points in two events and
Kenya Bailey turned in another strong performance in the 5,000 meters to lead Oklahoma Christian on Saturday on the final day of the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships.
OC finished ninth among the 12 teams competing in the LSC meet at the West Texas A&M Track and Field Complex, scoring 19 team points. The host school ran away with the title with 290 points.
Castillo, a senior from Edmond, Okla., picked up six team points for the Eagles with a third-place finish among 17 women in the 1,500 meters, posting a time of 4:49.67. OC junior
Emma Davison of Mason City, Iowa, finished 12th in the race in 5:13.27.
Castillo later scored four team points with her fifth-place finish in the 800 meters in 2:21.75. Her combined performances in the two races should earn Castillo All-LSC honors when the league announces them next week.
Bailey, a junior from Ponca City, Okla., finished fifth in the 5,000 in 19:27.18, giving OC four more team points. She's earned points for the Eagles in every LSC meet in which she's competed.

Atlanta Hopgood of Oklahoma City and sophomore
Bryah Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas. The Eagles' quartet placed fourth in 47.23 seconds.
The Eagles' top field-event performer on Saturday was freshman
Nikkita Addy of Moore, Okla., who finished 12th in the discus with a top throw of 120 feet, 5 inches (36.70 meters).
The Eagles might compete next week in a last-chance meet, with the site and dates to be determined.
