OKLAHOMA CITY (May 23, 2021) – A strong personal performance in the pitching circle during the NCAA Division II South Central Regional tournament earned Oklahoma Christian softball player Bailey Turner recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.

Turner was the Eagles' top pitcher during the regional, played last week in Commerce, Texas, allowing only four hits and one unearned run in 7 2/3 innings of work over three games.

The senior from Fort Worth, Texas, picked up the win as No. 4 OC beat No. 10 (and tournament host) Texas A&M-Commerce 4-3 in the Eagles' regional opener, holding the potent Lions to two hits over the game's final 4 1/3 innings.

In the final eight appearances of her softball career, all but one in relief, Turner posted a 2-0 record with three saves and earned the Eagle of the Week honor twice during that stretch.

The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
