DES MOINES, Iowa (April 24, 2021) –
Lawanda Harvey ran her best time of the track and field season in the 200 meters, highlighting Oklahoma Christian's outing on Saturday morning on the final day of the Drake Relays.
On the famous blue track at Drake Stadium, Harvey, a senior from Frisco, Texas, finished fourth among 19 runners in the College Division 200-meter race in 24.85 seconds. OC sophomore
Bryah Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas, was sixth in 25.33 seconds.
Davis also finished sixth in the 100-meter final in 12.30 seconds. She and Harvey joined
Destiny Johnson, a senior from Arlington, Texas, and
Atlanta Hopgood, a freshman from Oklahoma City, on the OC 4x100-meter relay team that finished sixth in the event final in 48.43 seconds.
In the 800 meters, senior
Kelsey Castillo of Edmond, Okla., finished 10th among 23 runners in 2:18.49, while junior
Payton Duesing of Lantana, Texas, was 18th in 2:21.24.
The Eagles now will point toward the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships, which will be run May 6-8 in Canyon, Texas, at West Texas A&M.
