Payton Duesing and
Kenya Bailey each posted a fourth-place individual finish and sophomore
Bryah Davis also scored team points for Oklahoma Christian on Sunday on the final day of the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Duesing, from Lantana, Texas, steadily moved up from seventh to fourth during the 800-meter final at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center and finished in 2:24.24 to earn five team points for the Eagles.
Bailey, from Ponca City, Okla., posted her second fourth-place distance-event finish in as many nights, doing so in the 3,000 meters, outdueling Jenna Thorman of Dallas Baptist (Texas) down the stretch to secure her spot. Bailey also earned five team points in the race for OC and 10 during the meet.
Davis, from Cedar Hill, Texas, finished seventh in the 60-meter final in 7.85 seconds to pick up two points for the Eagles.
OC finished seventh in the 10-team field with 22 points, while West Texas A&M had 234.5 to win the title.
Other top-10 finishers for the Eagles on Sunday included juniors
Emma Davison of Mason City, Iowa, and
Caroline Schwab of Andover, Kan., in the mile, with Davison ninth in 5:32.33 and Schwab 10th in 5:35.59. Freshman
KynLey Burton of Pea Ridge, Ark., took 10th in the high jump at 4 feet, 11¾ inches (1.52 meters).
The Eagles now will turn their attention to the outdoor season, the schedule for which will be announced in the coming weeks.
