PITTSBURG, Kan. (Feb. 13, 2021) –
Caroline Schwab and
Emma Davison posted career-best times in middle-distance events as Oklahoma Christian wrapped up its indoor track and field regular season on Saturday in the Indoor Gorilla Classic at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
Schwab, a junior from Andover, Kan., had her top collegiate times in both the 800 meters (2:28.10) and mile (5:33.58), finishing 20th and 23rd, respectively, in those events. Davison, a junior from Mason City, Iowa, finished 17th among 31 runners in the mile in a career-best time of 5:23.53 and was 21st among 28 women in the 800 in 2:29.01.
Posting season-best times were sophomore
Bryah Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas, in the 60 meters (7.78 seconds) and freshman
Shenna Daum of Colorado Springs, Colo., in the 400 meters (1:02.02). In the 3,000 meters, junior
Kenya Bailey of Ponca City, Okla., took sixth in a 13-woman field in 10:41.76.
In field events, freshman
Taelor Brown of Pawnee, Okla., finished sixth in the shot put with a top throw of 37 feet, 5¾ inches (11.42 meters), while freshman
Leah Oguntope of Houston was seventh with a season-best mark of 36 feet, 2 inches (11.02 meters).
Junior
Morgan Ray of Edmond, Okla., placed 12th in the triple jump at 33 feet, 7¼ inches (10.24 meters).
The Eagles are scheduled to run next Saturday and Sunday in the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships at Texas Tech's Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
